Benefits of Essential Oils

Essential Oils has been in used for more than 5,000 years and is well documented in ancient text, where it is used as healing potion (Medicine) as well as beauty potion.  It is said that when King Tut’s tomb (In Egypt) was opened, 350 liters of essential oils were discovered in alabaster jars.

Many has been written about how essential oils was burn as incense to stop a plague and how  frankincense was used to support the immune system and fight infection.  Essential Oils in modern times were once again proven effective when Dr. Jean Valet used essential oils to treat injured soldiers in World War II.

Essential oils are composed of very small molecules that can penetrate your cells, and some compounds in essential oils can even cross the blood-brain barrier.  Because of the incredible ability of essential oils to travel through the body and air so diffusing essential oils can too bring great health benefits.  By diffusing essential oils, your olfactory system (your sense of smell) which is connected directly to your brain thus what you smell go into your cells and your blood stream within seconds.  This is commonly known as “aromatherapy”.

Essential Oils are extracted naturally from plants, and it is a very concentrated, powerful fluid in its pure form.  To produce 1 pound of lavender essential oil,  it will takes 150 pounds of lavender flowers!  Thus, a few drops of essential oils is sufficient, and because it is from natural plants, there would be no side effects from applying essential oil.  Any essential oils absorbed by the bodies which not needed will be removed from the body after 2 hours.

There are many constituents in essential oils which some are antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-viral that help in fighting bacterial and gems. Some has calming and relaxing constituents that soothes nervous tension, headaches, anxiety and depression.
